Another Spooktacular Time
"The door bell began ringing way too early. My Halloween party has always been a tradition for me and my friends and this year it was going to be more special than ever. But I was barely ready with all my tricks and treats, when that first guest arrived. When I greeted my guests in my sexy Halloween costume, they were quite impressed. I spent two days preparing blood soaked Martini glasses, eyeball radishes, and lots of other spooky Martini surprises. My house looked awesome, actually a bit creepier than I had planned, and my guests all picked awesome costumes as well."

Vampire Blood Martini Glass
Ingredients: 1 c. Sugar 1/2 c. Karo Syrup 1/2 c. Water Red Food Coloring Cinnamon (optional)
Directions: Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook without stirring to hard crack stage – which is 300 degrees F. Add food coloring. (Optional: Cinnamon may be added for flavor.)
Turn off heat. While the mixture is still hot, dunk the top of the cocktail glass into the mixture to create the red rim. If you need to do several glasses, keep the mixture hot so it lasts longer (instead of turning heat off, just reduce slightly). You can go anywhere from just along the very tip of the rim to part way down the glass – whichever you prefer. Flip the glass right side up to cool. The thick consistency of the mixture will cause “drips” as it hardens on the glass!
Fill with your favorite Martini.
Eyeball Martini
Ingredients for eyeball: 1 radish 1 pimiento stuffed green olive
Ingredients for Classic Martini: 2 shots vodka 1/4 shot dry vermouth (more or less to taste)
At least a day before you plan to use them, peel radishes, leaving thin streaks of red skin on to represent blood vessels. Using the tip of the vegetable peeler or a small, knife, carefully scoop out a small hole in each radish, roughly the size of an olive. Stuff a green olive, pimiento side out, in each hole. Place 1 radish eyeball in each section of an empty ice cube tray. Pare the radishes down a bit to fit, if necessarry. Fill the tray with water and freeze overnight. To make drink, fill a tall cocktail glass with 3-4 eyeball ice cubes, add ingredients in the order given. Shake or stir, as is your preference.

Candy Corn Martini
3/4 oz Absolut® vanilla vodka 1/2 oz creme de cacao 1/2 oz butterscotch schnapps 2 oz orange juice 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
|
First, ring 6 oz Martini glass with orange juice then with Cocoa powder. Pour 1/2 cup of ice into shaker, then spirits, and Orange Juice. Shake vigorously and pour into glass. Garnish with Orange Peel Twist and 3-4 pcs of Candy Corn skewered on a plastic sword.
Pizza Mummies

1. Heat the oven to 350° F. For each mummy, spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce onto half of an English muffin (toast it first, if you like).
2. Set olive slices in place for eyes and add round slices of green onion or bits of red or green pepper for pupils.
3. Lay strips of cheese (use a pulled-apart cheese stick) across the muffin for the mummy's wrappings. 4. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the muffin is toasty.

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut a wedge into the end of each cocktail wiener to make a toenail. 2. Cut the tortillas into strips about 4 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. Discard the ends. 3. Soften the strips in the microwave between damp paper towels for 10 to 30 seconds. 4. Roll each wiener in a tortilla strip and secure with a toothpick. 5. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes. Remove them from the oven, then fill the toenail with ketchup or mustard. Remove the toothpicks before serving.
